Benvenuto su Diaspo* – il Italian social network decentralized, free and respectful of your privacy.
There are no algorithms deciding what you see, no intrusive advertising. Just real people, authentic content and a network built with passion.
But remember: Diaspo*’s growth depends on you.

🛠 How to Get Started

1. Register on diaspo.it

Go to https://diaspo.itand create your account.
All you need is an email, a nickname and a password. After registration you will receive a confirmation email to activate your profile.

2. Create your personal profile

Once inside, click on your name at the top right → Profile → Edit profile.
You can add:

• Profile photo and cover
• Short description
• Hashtags that represent you (e.g. #music, #reading, #linux, #photography)

These hashtags are used to help other users with similar interests find you!

3. Surfing the web

🔍 Search for content and people

Use the search bar to find users, hashtags, or content.
Example: Search for #books to find posts from other book lovers.

🏠 Go to your dashboard

The Stream section is your homepage:
here you see the posts of those you follow and your contacts.
In addition, all Public posts will be displayed

🗂 Organize your contacts

You can assign people to “aspects” (groups or circles): Friends, Family, Work, Interesting, etc.
You can also create custom skins and assign people to those or other skins.
Every time you post, you can choose who to show it to.

📝 How to publish

Click on “Post something” in your dashboard.

You can:

• Write texts (even long ones)
• Add photos or links
• Use hashtags for visibility
• Tag other users with @username

🔒 You can choose whether to make the post public, visible only to your contacts or to specific groups (aspects).

🤝 Interact

Follow who you like (no confirmation required)

Comment an “like” posts

Share (or reshare) public content you like

🔧 Useful settings

In the top right menu you will find:

• Notifications: Control mentions, comments, etc.
• Account Settings: Change language, email, password, or delete your profile
• Privacy: Manage visibility, blocks, and security preferences
